A Kind of Personal Video…
I’m not one of those people who mistakenly thinks that just because I have had success at one thing, that I’m an expert in every area of life. This video does talk a bit about something I learned this weekend. It is kind of personal. Not a “nuts and bolts” type of video…but a very important part of life.

Yes,by all means do right by as many people as you can.Esp the kids.Do your thing but do so humbly not with pride.Being proud is a negative human characteristic and not the reward for your good works.
that was touching. life and death really puts things into perspective. I know you didn’t meet her but my condolences go out to you. It’s also nice that you can share this stuff with us guys your fitness blog army and trust me Rusty you definitely do touch people. I have read many of these guys blogs and they all express your message of working out but have fun in your life. You have shown me the path to fitness and fun and i aim to pass on the same messages when i build my own following.
Thanks for sharing.
My heart goes out to you and your girlfriend.
There are some powerful lessons in your video. It does make you stop and think. I have tried to put out helpful posts but there are times I throw things together just in an effort to boost traffic. You are right that there are real people on the other end of our posts and emails. There is enough junk out there we are all better served doing our best and to help those looking for guidence.
Thanks for sharing that Rusty. That’s so sad what happened. Coming from Australia and having done a ton of swimming in beach and surf I know how deadly rip tides are, and have barely escaped from a few myself. I’m about to start a blog and website soon, and I remember thinking that I really want it to help people and be significant…to be a thing of service. Your video has certainly reinforced my resolution.
Cheers mate – I’ll keep you guys in my prayers during this time of loss.
Mark
Thanks for posting that, Rusty.
There is a very thin veil between life and death. Between being on earth and not.
In the blink of an eye this could be over, so live and give fully in the present because that’s all we really have.
Sorry to hear this sad story. Thanks for sharing Rusty. The real reason we are all here is to help people. Your desire to help people shines through in all your work. We stick around because of the quality of your work, and your helpful nature. Thanks again man.

Thank you for sharing that Rusty.
It’s easy to forget that business IS personal… even an Internet business.
This is certainly something you can be proud of.

Rusty,
My condolences to you and you girlfriend.

Really appreciate you sharing that, its tragic and condolences to you, your girlfriend and importantly Rhiannon’s family. That is a real, true dose of total perspective. What an incredible woman – from the little you shared – I think this story and this woman’s inner strength will inspire us all for a long, long time.
Rusty.
Appreciate you sharing that very personal story with us. These type of sad things always seem to remind us of whats truly important in life. Like you said its easy to get caught up in all these different website ranking tactics but at the end of the day what it comes down to is how many people did you help.
I must say Rusty you have been a true inspiration to me and many more. Not only have you inspired many people to get fit, healthy and confident but you have also taught many of us how to create a great side income and soon to be full time income.
If it wasn’t for you I never would of started my website which is now getting 1000-2000 visits per day and making me 2-3 thousand per month. As well I never would of had the opportunity to help all my website followers who frequent my site.
Thanks again Rusty and all the best.
My condolences to you Rusty and your girlfriend.
The advice you give to help people is the number one reason why I started my blog and created my products. As a personal trainer you can only help as many people as there are time in the day, but with a blog you can reach far more people with you message.
My objective with starting my blog has always been to write top quality stuff and that is also why
I don’t have that many posts. Before I post anything it should be top notch.
That is also why I don’t get it why Google hate my site. After getting decent rankings Google killed my site from one day to the other and from what I can hear in this group I’m not the only one.
So, with your message in my mind to always help people I will continue to explore other traffic methods that will always bring value first.
Thanks for sharing Rusty and you are making a difference touching lives. I appreciate you and your work brother.

Hey Rusty,
Very said story…. Sorry
I know how dangerous ripe tides can be in Costa Rica. I almost drowned over 15 years ago surfing in Costa Rica. Get caught in a ripe tide after losing by board and almost drowned.
Very sorry for her family she sounds like a beautiful person.
Best – Mike
Sorry to hear the news Rusty. I needed to hear it as I struggle with my site. I chose a arena in helping people which is not super high in traffic but helping people is important to me. So not getting tons of traffic makes it hard to make it work financially. The people who do come to the site are helped and so it is a constant balance between helping people and putting food on the table. My site competes with some huge sites that are not focused on making the personal touch but instead glancing through the masses. When people find my site they are grateful that I have the personal help they need and does a lot to keep me going. Again sorry for your loss but the message was encouraging to me to keep steady at helping others. Thanks
Hey Rusty, thank you for sharing this story with us. I actually have not been taking care of my blog since I’ve been busy with my fitness business. Being in the trenches, I can relate about the one to one relationships with clients. It is one of the many things we do best in my company. I see people struggle everyday and I see them succeed as well. To me, their needs and struggles are very real so when I write a blog post, I think of them.
Great lessons to be learned here. Thanks for the reminder. And yes, you do a lot of things that help people!

Thanks for such an inspirational video, Rusty. My thoughts are with your girlfriend and Rhiannon’s family.
The message in your video is really powerful and motivational. I started my blog with the goal to help people, and I haven’t even given much thought to making money out of the blog. This video serves as a reminder to stay true to our values: sharing knowledge with others and helping people.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the kind words. I really want all of you to kick butt online. It never will happen as quickly as you would like…but if you put your best foot forward long enough, you will have success.
Excited for this upcoming year…I know there are a few of you here who are close to making consistent job killing income. This will happen in 2012 for sure!
Cheers,
-Rusty
Rusty,
You motivate me everyday my man! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. I love hearing more of your personal side instead of just technical mumbo jumbo all the time. It really helps me relate to you as a person and not just a picture.
Tim
Very sorry to hear about your friend.
That’s really tough for the kids to lose their mum so early in life.
Rusty,
Really sorry to hear about Rhiannon. I’m hoping for the best for you and your girlfriend to make it through this difficult time.
To echo what some of the others have said, you have really had a positive impact on us with your generosity. Setting up this training course to help all of us for free was something you didn’t have to do, especially given that you had already built a successful business for yourself. But you are really giving back in a big way and we appreciate it.

Hello Rusty,
Thank you for sharing this heart touching sad story.
This is the first time i am commenting here, although i was tempted to do so many times while i was reading your posts. You are a very special person, so different from most of the marketers i met on the net. All i want to say has already been said in the above posts. Many thanks too for the great training course and help you provide. Appreciate it a lot. Take care.
Gerda
Message received, Rusty. Thank you for the reminder my friend.
